DVLA Unveils State-of-the-Art Bantama Office to Revolutionise Service Delivery in Kumasi

In a decisive move to enhance operational efficiency and deepen decentralisation, the Driver and Vehicle Licensing Authority (DVLA) has commissioned an ultra-modern office at Bantama in Kumasi, aimed at transforming service delivery across the Ashanti Region.

The commissioning ceremony, held today, represents a significant milestone in the Authority’s strategic agenda to decongest existing branches and bring critical services closer to motorists, vehicle owners, and transport operators.

Addressing dignitaries and stakeholders at the event, the Chief Executive Officer of the DVLA, Julius Neequaye Kotey, underscored that the establishment of the Bantama office forms part of a broader institutional reform designed to promote accessibility, efficiency, and transparency.

He emphasised that the expansion drive is intended to drastically reduce long queues, minimise travel time for clients, and significantly improve the overall customer experience within the metropolis.

According to the CEO, the newly inaugurated facility is fully equipped with cutting-edge digital infrastructure and modern operational systems to expedite key services, including vehicle registration, driver’s license issuance and renewal, roadworthiness certification, and other statutory processes.

Mr Kotey further reiterated the Authority’s unwavering commitment to eliminating the activities of intermediaries, popularly referred to as “goro boys,” stressing that the proliferation of modern offices will foster direct interaction between the DVLA and the public while enhancing accountability.

Residents and drivers in Kumasi have lauded the initiative, describing it as both timely and strategic, particularly in light of the region’s rapid urban growth and the increasing number of registered vehicles.

The Bantama office is expected to substantially alleviate pressure on existing DVLA branches, strengthen regulatory compliance, and advance road safety standards throughout the Ashanti Region.
