UK-Based Philanthropist Supports Ramadan Observance at Offinso Saaboa Zongo with food items

The Muslim community at the Central Mosque in Saaboa Zongo, Offinso South Municipality, Ashanti Region, has received support from a UK-based philanthropist who donated assorted food items to assist members during the holy month of Ramadan.
The gesture, which took place at the mosque premises, was initiated by the UK-based Agyare Family as part of their commitment to supporting vulnerable communities and promoting unity during significant religious periods.
The items donated included bags of sugar, loaves of bread, packs of milk, and Lipton tea. The items are expected to help Muslim families in the community as they observe the Ramadan fasting period, which is characterised by prayer, fasting, and charity.

Aside from the food donation, the philanthropist also supported the community by installing a new information centre to enhance communication and information dissemination within the Saaboa Zongo area.
The facility is expected to serve as a platform for important announcements, community engagements, and public education within the community.
Speaking to the media during the presentation, the Project Coordinator who represented the philanthropist, James Nkansah, explained that the initiative was aimed at supporting the Muslim community during Ramadan while also contributing to the development of the community.
Mr Nkansah added that the installation of the information centre was equally important because it would help improve communication among residents and ensure that information on community matters reaches everyone.
He further advised the youth in the community to remain united and embrace peaceful coexistence, stressing that unity and togetherness are essential for community development.

The items were received on behalf of the mosque by the Assembly Member for the Saaboa Electoral Area, Issa Khalifa, together with the Committee Chairman, Urma Mahmoud.
They expressed their profound appreciation to the philanthropist for the generous support, describing the gesture as timely and beneficial to many Muslim families observing Ramadan.
“The donated items will help support several households in the community as they prepare meals to break their daily fast,” they added.
They also commended the philanthropist for installing the information centre in the community as the facility will significantly improve communication and coordination of activities within the area.
The community leaders further appealed to other well-meaning individuals and organisations to emulate the gesture by extending similar support to communities, particularly during important religious periods such as Ramadan.
