NPP to Set up an Election Review Committee to Analyse Election Results Outcome
The New Patriotic Party(NPP) is about to set up an election review committee to undertake a postmortem into the outcome of the just-ended general elections.
Addressing the media at a press conference, the National Chairman of the party, Mr Stephen Ayensu Ntim, alluded that the committee will engage party stakeholders and the general public on the factors and circumstances leading to our defeat.
According to him, the work of the Election Review Committee will enable our people to express their concerns and to bring out suggestions on reforms, changes, and other critical issues necessary to restructure our party.
He stressed that one critical area that must occupy the attention of the Election Review Committee is the possible need for constitutional amendments and the restructuring of the Party’s internal decision-making processes and bodies particularly on the mode of electing presidential and parliamentary candidates.
He added that it is a difficult time for the New Patriotic Party, but we are a resilient people. We must and we will rise again from the defeat.
