Manhyia South MP Launches “Soloku” Easter Initiative to Boost Local Economy

The Member of Parliament for Manhyia South, Lawyer Nana Agyei Baffour Awuah, has unveiled a new initiative aimed at transforming the constituency into a major Easter tourism destination.

The program, dubbed “Soloku Easter Experience,” is set to become an annual event designed to stimulate economic growth, revive struggling businesses, and position Manhyia South as a vibrant hub during the Easter festivities

Speaking at the official launch, Lawyer Baffour Awuah explained that the initiative is part of a broader vision to breathe life back into collapsed and struggling businesses within the constituency, particularly in the hospitality sector.

According to him, hotels, guesthouses, and other local enterprises have the potential to thrive if given the right platform and exposure through well-organised events.

He noted that the success of Easter celebrations in Kwahu serves as a clear example of how tourism-driven activities can significantly boost local economies and attract both domestic and international investors.

The MP emphasised that the Ashanti Region has equal potential to host a similar large-scale Easter attraction, adding that “Soloku” will be strategically developed to draw thousands of visitors into Manhyia South every year.

He further stressed that the initiative will not only promote tourism but also create employment opportunities for the youth, empower local entrepreneurs, and enhance cultural display within the area.

The Soloku Easter Experience is expected to feature a variety of activities including cultural performances, music events, food fairs, and community engagement programs, all aimed at showcasing the rich heritage and economic potential of the area.

With this bold step, Lawyer Baffour Awuah is calling on investors, traditional authorities, and residents to support the initiative to ensure its success and sustainability.

If successfully implemented, Soloku could become a major annual highlight, rivalling established Easter festivities in other parts of the country and significantly contributing to local economic development.
