KMA Mayor inspects progress of the ongoing 6-kilometre road project at Daaban newsite

The Metropolitan Chief Executive Officer for Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly, Hon Richard Ofori Agyemang Boadi, has inspected the ongoing 6-kilometre road project at Daaban newsite in the metropolis.
The project, which is being executed by Doncross Construction Firm Ltd, is expected to be completed within the next two weeks, bringing an end to years of discomfort faced by motorists and residents using the route daily.

Addressing the press during an inspection tour at the project site, the KMA Mayor, Hon Richard Ofori Agyemang Boadi explained that this road project is a major intervention aimed at improving the daily routine of residents living in the area.
He commended the work progress by the Doncross Construction Firm Ltd and stated that once the project is completed, it would significantly reduce dust pollution, improve air quality, and create a more comfortable environment for those working and living in the area.
Hon Richard Ofori Agyemang Boadi continues that all this initiative forms part of the government’s commitment to infrastructure development as the Daaban newsite road project reflects the broader national agenda of strengthening the road network in Kumasi and Ashanti by the NDC government.

The Ashanti Regional Director of the Department of Urban Roads, Mr Na-em Iddrisu, who has been closely supervising the project, expressed his satisfaction with the steady progress of the work.
He emphasised that the road project was designed to strengthen connectivity within the metropolis, linking the Daaban newsite corridor directly to the Melcom road, Sokoban Wood Village, to Ejisu, and also extending access towards the Santasi axis.

Mr Na-em Iddrisu stressed that they are looking at a two-week ultimatum for the completion of the current phase.
Stating that once the bitumen surface is completed, the next step would be the asphalt overlay, which will give the road a finishing standard.
The Ashanti Regional Director of the Department of Urban Roads further added that the road, when completed, would ease traffic flow in the area.
While enhancing economic activities by providing smoother access for commuters, traders, and transport operators who depend on the route daily.
