The Krontihene of Akyem Asoum, Nana Boadi Amponim Abodade III, has expressed his gratitude and support for the incoming president, John Mahama, comparing him to the Good Samaritan in the Bible who is on a mission to rescue Ghana from its current plight.

According to Nana Abodade III, he said the country had been sucked dry by corrupt leaders who have led the country into a devastating state.

He therefore indicated that “We thank the good Lord for the victory of President Mahama. As it is in Luke 10:29, Ghana has been stripped naked and Ghana is bleeding.

Adding “The robbers have stolen all the goodies, but have faith that good Samaritan who will be given the mantle would bring the country back on its feet, and also recover the loot that the robbers took.”

The Krontihene of Akyem Asoum, Nana Boadi Amponim Abodade III, says Samira Bawumia, the wife of NPP flagbearer, harboured significant disappointment following her husband’s loss to John Mahama in the presidential election.

Nana Boadi claimed that Samira deeply invested in her husband’s bid for the presidency, envisioning herself as a First Lady with a flair for style and public presence.

“Dr. Bawumia is not happy; he did his best and was desperate for the position,” Nana Boadi said. But Samira Bawumia was even more unhappy as she was so desperate for the position.

He stressed that Samira Bawumia played a highly visible role during the NPP campaign, often taking centre stage.

She attributed this to her desire to become First Lady and her ability to captivate the public with her fashion and charisma.

“You know, our good old Auntie Rebecca Akufo-Addo, she was not that outgoing, and so Samira was mostly at the forefront. She longed to be the First Lady,” he said.

He added, “If the NPP had won, she would have slayed a lot. Suggesting her style would have set trends and perhaps even drawn envy.‌

The Krontihene of Akyem Asoum, Nana Boadi implied that Samira’s visible disappointment reflected the broader mood within the Bawumia household after the election loss.
