Infrastructure Revival: Offinso South Assembly Steps In to Fix Years of Educational Neglect

After enduring years of infrastructural abandonment and academic discomfort, Abofour African Faith Junior High School in the Offinso South Municipality of the Ashanti Region is witnessing a renewed wave of hope as authorities move decisively to address its long-standing challenges.
For years, students of the school have studied in dusty classrooms without proper flooring, while teachers have been compelled to conduct lessons under a makeshift palm-frond structure due to the absence of adequate classroom facilities.
The situation has severely undermined effective teaching and learning, leaving academic performance and morale hanging in the balance.

A three-unit classroom block initiated by the previous administration was abandoned at the lintel stage, further compounding the school’s infrastructural deficit and exposing pupils to harsh learning conditions.
However, in what many describe as a timely intervention, the Municipal Chief Executive, Frank Owusu Amoah, through the Offinso South Municipal Assembly, has stepped in with immediate support.

The Assembly has donated several bags of cement to facilitate the cementing of the dusty classroom floors for temporary use, providing some relief to students and staff as authorities work towards a permanent solution.

Addressing the school community, Mr Frank Owusu Amoah assured that the abandoned three-unit classroom block will be fully completed before the end of the year. He emphasised that education remains a paramount priority and reaffirmed the Assembly’s commitment to completing all stalled and abandoned projects within the municipality to enhance the quality of education delivery.
The intervention has been met with optimism among residents and school authorities, who believe the renewed commitment signals a turning point in the school’s quest for improved infrastructure and academic excellence.
