Lifestyle modification (behavioural weight control) includes a sedentary lifestyle where a person is largely inactive, spending significant amounts of time sitting or lying down with very little physical activity or exercise, eating any type of food that comes to mind, leading to potential health risks due to lack of movement
Dr Collins Kokuro, a cardiologist at Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital and a senior lecturer at KNUST, speaking to Angel News has disclosed that, a sedentary lifestyle is a major risk factor linked to various health issues like obesity, cardiovascular disease and diabetes
“Increased use of computers, TV and other screens (tablets and smartphones) for work, school, entertainment and social interaction”
According to Dr Collins, people have to change their lifestyle modification, which can be used to treat a range of diseases, including eating unhealthy foods, the habit of snacking while watching TV, less intake of fruits and vegetables, excess intake of alcohol, and not participating in regular exercise, he said.
