Have wedding rings lost their significance in marriages- a must-read

A section of Ghanaians has shared their views on the significance of wedding rings in marriages, and the role they play.

For some people describing the ring as a symbol of love and commitment in marriage serves as a strong bond among the couple.

In contrast, others believe it has lost its meaning amidst modern pressures in this era of marriages where fornication and adultery have become the order of the day.

Unlike the olden days where a wedding ring strengthens the bond between couples, love, commitment, and shared journeys, it has become a fashion for most men and women in this 21st century just to earn the title (Mr and Mrs).

Some people see the ring as a powerful symbol that reminds couples of their vows to stay with each other no matter the challenges they may encounter while others feel it’s just a tradition to impress the masses.

“I must get married to avoid family pressure, to prove people wrong, to get an inheritance and many others”, but the question is are people who are in for these reasons ready for the good and hard times that come with the symbol of “a ring” that binds two people for a lifetime?
