Empowering Persons with Disabilities: YEA Commissions Fashion Inclusive Training Hub in Kumasi
The Youth Empowerment Agency (YEA) has taken a significant step towards promoting inclusivity and diversity in the fashion industry by commissioning a fashion-inclusive training hub in Kumasi.
The initiative, aimed at empowering and sustaining persons with disabilities (PWDs), was launched by the CEO of YEA, Malik Basintale.
During the commissioning ceremony, Mr. Basintale expressed his commitment to ensuring that everything goes well for the PWDs participating in the training program.
He revealed that 100 people with disability PWDs would be trained until they acquired the knowledge.
He advised the trainees to make good use of the facility and participate vigorously in the training, emphasizing that the agency is dedicated to their success.
The National Secretary of the Ghana Society of the Physically Disabled, Madam Emmanuella Nimo Elizabeth, expressed profound gratitude to YEA and its partners for providing training opportunities to them. Stressing the need for the agency to recognize the potential of PWDs and give them a chance to develop their skills in the fashion industry.
Madam Emmanuella also made a heartfelt appeal to the agency, requesting that they consider providing accommodation for the trainees to reduce the transportation costs that burden them.
