Renovate Our School Block to Avoid Future Disaster- Atwima Twedie D/A JHS Appeal to Authorities

The teachers and students of Atwima Twedie D/A JHS in the Ashanti Region are making a desperate appeal to the authorities to renovate their existing school blocks to avoid future disasters as we enter into the rainy season.

According to them, it is worrying when school blocks are abandoned while students and pupils suffer for it. Especially with the rainy season fast approaching, this becomes a daunting challenge for both teachers and students.

Currently, the teachers are forced to sit under a devastated canopy, while the school block they are using is in a deplorable state, posing a significant risk to their safety. The structure is literally a death trap, and the teachers and students are living in fear of a potential disaster.

The school’s location in Atwima Twedie, the municipal capital of Atwima Kwanwoma, makes it even more unacceptable that the students and teachers are facing such challenging conditions. The school’s infrastructure is in shambles, making it impossible for teaching and learning to take place effectively.

During the rainy season, the situation becomes even more dire, as the teachers and students are unable to access the school due to the torrential rains. Similarly, during the hot summer months, the sun beats down relentlessly, making it difficult for anyone to concentrate.

The teachers and students are urging the authorities to take immediate action to address their plight. They are calling for the renovation of the existing school blocks or the completion of the abandoned school block. This will not only improve the learning environment but also ensure the safety and well-being of the students and teachers.

The teachers and students of Atwima Twedie D/A JHS are therefore pleading with the government and authorities to heed to their pleads to calm the situation at the school.challenges faced by many schools in Ghana.
