Ohwim Amanfrom residents support police station with a vehicle and motorcycle to strengthen security issues in the area

As part of curbing the crime rate at Ohwim and its environs, the residents of Ohwim led by the assemblyman have presented a pick-up vehicle and a motorbike to the Ohwim Amanfrom police station to safeguard security issues in the area.

ACP Ishaq Ibrahim, Suame Divisional Commander, addressing the ceremony, expressed his satisfaction towards the community for their commitment to supporting the police in safeguarding the lives of the people.

He continues that this patriotism by the people has shown how committed they are to ensuring that security issues in the area are well addressed.

ACP Ishaq Ibrahim tasked the police personnel to ensure the vehicle and motorcycle presented to the station are put to good use for the benefit of the people.

The Suame Divisional Commander further urged the police personnel to partner with the community to fight crime in the area to justify the trust the people have in them.

The Chief Executive Officer of Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly, Hon Richard Ofori Agyemang Boadi applauded the community for this crime-fighting initiative.

He said that, as the shortage of police personnel is a challenge for the station, he would do his best to get more police personnel for the community to help strengthen the security issues in the area.

Hon Richard Ofori Agyemang Boadi appeals to landlords and landladies in the area to reduce the prices of rent in the area to help accommodate more personnel as rent issues have become a major challenge affecting the transfer of personnel.

The Assemblyman for Ohwim Amanfrom electoral area, Hon Paul Arthur, explained that the motive behind this donation by the community was to support the police in curbing crime in the area.

He stressed that upon consultation, the community realised the challenge by the police was the shortage of vehicles for their patrol, which led the community to contribute to purchasing a vehicle and motorcycle for the station for their daily runs to safeguard security issues in the area.
